The new Institute of industrial research and development agency is created to replace the institute of scientific and technological research. This after MPs Tuesday afternoon approved the law establishing the agency. The minister  of commerce Francois Kanimba  said the new Institute of industrial research and development agency is to Carry out research on appropriate technologies and add value to raw materials and in turn boost industrial development

A number of mps also supported the new research agency saying it will help to facilitate stronger link between research and industry. 47 Mps among 58 Mps present in today’s plenary session vote in favor of the law.
